WHY MONTESSORI
Perhaps the best way in support of the Montessori approach to learning are some of the traits it develops we can site a few here

  • Montessori learning develops analytical thinking and being the individual that you are. It makes one learn to question rather than just accept what you are told and this becomes second nature very quickly in the formative years between 3-6 and lasts a lifetime.
  • It develops ones inner strengths and courage to stand up for others and oneself.
  • Socially well rounded and adjusted individuals who can fit in any place and situation because they are equipped from an early age to withstand and overcome many an obstacle and challenge thrown at them.
  • Montessorians ‘Love to Learn’ they take their time to know and understand first .They understand that they are under no pressure to achieve but nevertheless they excel at what they do.They are open to new experiences and knowledge in all spheres of life.
  • Develops insight and discipline when evaluating problems or concerns.

OUR PROGRAM

Our Program is based on the preschool type of introduction to the many Montessori School concepts. Classrooms are for mixed ages, allowing for both individual and social development.  The learning materials are openly displayed on low shelves for easy access and the environment enables the children to become proactive participants in their learning.

We draw our teachings and inspiration from the philosophy of Dr Maria Montessori and with the help of the specialized Montessori materials, the different cultures from around the world as well as outdoors activities. We have developed a curriculum that is broad-based and interdisciplinary.

We believe the children and adults i.e. teachers and parents are collaborators in the educational process which leads the child move or develop from concrete experiences and concepts to abstract understandings for future academic success.

The Winter Camp is a continuation of the Montessori classroom experience with additional opportunities for many experiences. Consistency is an essential element in a child’s life thus continuing the patterns established during the traditional school year during the winter break encourages your child’s sense of order and organization.

The campers explore all kinds of things from mad science to experiencing some Malawian culture and crafts as well as a trip to the local Wildlife Center to see some animals. We also engage in fun sport and games.

The Camp also serves new children enrolled to LMNS to familiarize themselves to the new environment and make new friends. It is an educational, fun program.
